Crepes are one of my favourite morning recipes. Not only are they easy, but there are so many variations such as sweet, salty, etc! Today we will go over the cooking process and also some variations that will taste delicous inside your crepe.
Let’s get to cooking!
Serves – 3-4 people
Cooking time – 30-45 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon of powdered sugar for sweetness (leave out if doing savoury crepes)
- 1 and 1/3 cup of flour
- 3 tablespoons of sour cream (can sub for greek yoghurt)
- 1/2 cup of milk
- 1 pinch of salt
Wet Mix

Now it’s time to start preparing you batter.
- Start by mixing all your dry ingrediants together, this will be your flour, salt, and sugar. Prior to adding your dry ingredients, give it a good mix so everything is incorporated.
- Now add your wet ingrediants. Start by adding your egg and milk. For the milk, add slowly and mix well.
- Once milk is fully incorporated, you can add your sour cream. This will give it a more silky texture.
- Now before you start cooking you want to make sure everything is mixed very well. Any small clumps will show on crepes and make them lumpy. You can even pass your batter through a strainer for optimal results.
Cooking

For best results i reccomend having a crepe pan, if not dont worry a normal one will work just fine. I will link a good crepe pan down below.
- Heat your pan to medium low and use a paper towel with oil on it to make sure every single edge of the pan is covered. You dont want the oil clumping together, but a shear layer.
- For the batter, were going to pour around 1/3 a cup onto the pan. While pouring it, tilt the pan to spread the batter evenly across it.
- For cooking time, you’ll know it’s ready to flip with the edges have pulled away from the pan.
- Grab one of the edges and stick your spatula under to get a good flip with no rips. They should be very thin and cook quickly.
- Depending on your crepe, you only need to flip 1-2 times for a golden brown crepe.
- Now these steps until finished the batter!
Make sure to oil pan after every crepe!
Toppings!

Now let’s talk about toppings. I’ll give a few options for sweet and savoury.
