Ingredients
Prep work

For the prep work, it’s your choice, but we’re going to keep it simple and straightforward to ensure that everyone can easily follow along. By focusing on the essentials, we can maintain a smooth workflow that allows us to achieve our goals without getting bogged down in unnecessary complexities. Whether you prefer to gather materials in advance or tackle tasks as they come, the key is to stay organized and prepared, setting the stage for a productive experience.
- Turn on your pan to medium high heat and add 1 tablespoon of oil, I use olive.
- Wash Asparagus and lemon.
- Chop 1-2 inch off of asparagus ends to prevent a fibrous bite. But keep if you prefer them on.
- Zest a lemon till you have around a tablespoon, more or less depending on your love for lemon.
- Peel your garlic and give it a quick smash with the back of knife. This will allow you to remove them once finished cooking while still having the essence of the garlic.
Cooking
This will be quick, as the asparagus usually only takes around 6-8 minutes to finish cooking, which is just enough time for it to become tender while still retaining a delightful crunch. Meanwhile, the breadcrumbs require an additional 2-3 minutes to toast perfectly, adding a crispy texture and rich flavor to the dish. Together, these cooking times ensure that both elements are ready to be served simultaneously, making the preparation efficient and enjoyable.
- Once pan is hot add in asparagus, a sprinkle of salt and some pepper.
- leave the asparagus alone for 3 minutes before flipping to get a nice char on them.
- While asparagus is cooking, place another small pan on the stove and heat to medium low.
- Add 1-2 tbs of butter. ( 1 tablespoon for more crunchy breadcrumbs and 2 for a Softer bite)
- Once melted add in breadcrumbs and half of the lemon zest; cook till butter is fully incorporated and breadcrumbs are toasted, then remove from heat. (2-3 minutes)
- Once asparagus is flipped at around 3 minutes, cook for another 3-4 minutes and add in butter and garlic.
- Right before removing asparagus add remaining half of lemon zest and give the asparagus a good mix in the butter and Lemon zest.
- Place in serving dish and garnish with freshly cracked black pepper and breadcrumbs lying on the bed of asparagus.
Enjoy!
